On July 1, 2022, the traditional annual festival "July Morning" returned to Kamen Bryag, Bulgaria, after a hiatus in recent years. The event, which gathers thousands of music and nature lovers, was marked by a special moment – the unveiling of a monument to the legendary Uriah Heep vocalist, John Lawton.
John Lawton's Monument: A Symbol of Love for Bulgaria
The sculpture of John Lawton was officially unveiled just before sunrise, at 5:00 AM, in the presence of his family and friends. This monument is a tribute to John and his unwavering passion for Bulgaria and his efforts to promote our country. The figure of John was created by sculptor Alexander Haitov, son of the writer and publicist Nikolay Haitov.
The Special Bench: Quality Materials and Unique Design
John Lawton's figure is placed on a specially designed bench by Encho Enchev – ETE. The bench is made of high-strength concrete with a homogeneous mosaic structure, consisting of marble chips from white Italian marble. All surfaces are finely polished, creating a velvet-like touch that enhances the aesthetic appeal and durability of the installation.
The Location and Symbolism of the Monument
The monument is located on the cliffs of Kamen Bryag, overlooking the sunrise over the sea – the place where John Lawton invariably welcomed the first July sunrise in the last years of his life. After the unveiling of the monument, fans lined up to sit on the bench next to "John," taking photos and laying flowers.
A Monument for All Times
John Lawton's monument is open for visits at any time. Everyone can sit next to the figure of the legendary musician and enjoy the beautiful view of the sea, experiencing a piece of the magic of "July Morning."
With their participation in this project, Encho Enchev – ETE continues to demonstrate their dedication to creating high-quality and innovative products for public spaces. We thank everyone who contributed to the creation of this significant monument and for reviving the tradition of July Morning in Bulgaria.
